Teucrium brevifolium Coastal Germander
Typically found in dry, rocky limestone habitats and often not far from the sea, this shrub has quite a limited distribution: Southern Greece, Southern Aegean islands, parts of north Africa, Turkey and nowhere else. The pale lilac flower and thin, greyish revolute leaves are typical. The stamens in Teucrium species often protrude quite far beyond the flower but are shorter in Teucrium brevifolium not extending beyond the upper lips of the petals.
