Stachys byzantina Lamb's-ear I
This is an introduction from Asia which started in gardens but which has since established itself particularly in southern and central England. It is found in Scotland, Ireland and Wales but only occasionally. This one was found in Wales at a site not recorded by BSBI.
Stachys byzantina formerly known as Stachys lanata is the woolliest of woolly plants you'll ever expect to see. The buds (above) are almost hidden by the woolliness surrounding them.
