Silene spergulifolia
Silene Spergulifolia is usually white flowered and this put our leaders off identifying this particular specimen for quite a time. Many Silene species have medicinal properties and Silene spergulifolia has been shown to be effective against certain bacteria.
It is a plant of the eastern Mediterranean, native to many countries including Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Russia and Iran.
