Serapias lingua Tongue Orchid
The Tongue orchids are quite difficult to distinguish and to make matters worse they hybridise with each other too. This one has a single dark red lump at the very back of the throat of the flower which distinguishes it from other species.
Taxonomy: All authorities agree that the correct, accepted name for this species is Serapias lingua L.
