Senecio flavus
The flowers of this species reminded me of a small Heath Groundsel (Senecio sylvaticus) but the leaves were very distinctive and quite different. It was thriving in a very dry gorge in the driest part of Spain (and Europe). Senecio flavus is a native of northern Africa and also grows in south western Africa, the Canaries and Pakistan. Southern Spain appears to be a northern limit for this plant
