Scilla autumnalis   Autumn Squill RR DD N

Scilla autumnalis whole Scilla autumnalis close

This nationally scarce plant is usually found by the sea and in certain places such as the Channel islands it is easily found in good numbers. As with a few plants with the name "Autumn", they flower in mid summer and if you do wait until Autumn you'll be too late to find them in flower.

Scilla autumnalis is restricted to Cornwall, parts of Devon and the Channel Islands with just a very few other sites in England. It is no longer found in Wales and does not occur in Scotland or Ireland.
