Ranunculus pyrenaeus Pyrenean Buttercup
Growing in both the Pyrenees and the Alps between 6,000 and 10,000 feet, this alpine can form huge meadows in the uplands. Ranunculus pyrenaeus is one of the plants like Soldanella alpina (Alpine Snowbell) which flowers as soon as the snow melts or sometimes even before. The attractiveness of this alpine has meant it is often for sale in garden centres.
