Pyrola minor Common Wintergreen C DD N
We were a little too early to catch this plant in full flower on our 2005 North Yorkshire WFS expedition but the plant with the pink flushed petals was in a clump at its peak on a a week or so later in 2006 further north in Scotland. Although it does grown on sites in England, Ireland and a few in Wales, its main home in the British Isles is in northern England and Scotland. It will grow in woods as this one was or on rocky ledges on mountain sides.
