Ptilotus manglesii   Pom Poms Endemic

Ptilotus manglesii whole Ptilotus manglesii close

The flowers of this delightful plant can be conical as well as round like this and it is not always procumbent. Although I only found it once and on the preferred gravelly/sandy habitat of a roadside verge, it is actually quite common in south western Australia from north of Geraldton to Albany but not growing too far inland.
