Prunus cerasifera Cherry Plum I
This introduced plant from southern Europe is one a quite a few Prunus species flowering at roughly the same time and which look quite similar. Useful then if your specimen has been determined by other experts as this one was. These were amongst the last flowers as this plant produces flowers before the main crop of leaves.
Common in England this tree is also found in Wales to a lesser extent but does not escape much in Scotland except around the large population areas. In Ireland it is dotted her and there but uncommon.
