Prostanthera lasianthos Christmas Bush
Also known as Mountain Lilac, this species is found in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland as well as Tasmania. The very first flowers were out unexpectedly on this shrub as it normally flowers from December to January. P. lasianthos has flowers similar to those found on flowering nettles of various kinds in the British Isles which is no coincidence as it is a member of the Lamiaceae (Dead-nettle Family).
