Primula farinosa   Bird's-eye Primrose

What a delight to find that one of my favourite plants grows commonly in the European hills. In Europe it will grow on acid soils although it is associated only with a limestone belt traversing northern England from Yorkshire to Lancashire in the British Isles.

In Europe Primula farinosa will grow as an alpine on mountains up to 10,000 feet in height. In the habitat photograph below the blue flower growing with pink Primula farinosa is Pinguicula grandiflora (Large-flowered Butterwort).
