Polygonatum multiflorum Solomon's-seal
This very familiar garden plant in the UK is actually rare in the wild where the hybrid Polygonatum x hybridum is perhaps more often encountered. P. multiflorum grows throughout the Mediterranean region and will thrive in wooded areas with dappled shade usually on basic soils. This one is not quite in flower.
