Plantago atrata Dark Plantain
This small and rather insignificant plantain would have been missed except for the sharp eyes of our leader who spotted it having found it on a previous expedition. It is a plant of the high hills supposedly growing in alpine meadows between 5,000 feet and 8,000 feet. The small yellow flower nearby is Sibbaldia procumbens (Sibbaldia).
