Pinguicula grandiflora Large-flowered Butterwort RR DD N
Although mostly introduced or planted in mainland Britain this rather showy plant is native in Ireland and because of the much larger size of the flower compared with the much commoner P. vulgaris, is easy to spot. It has a white throat unlike P. vulgaris.
There are very few sites in England and Wales (it does not grow in Scotland) for Pinguicula grandiflora but in the south west corner of Ireland it is actually quite straightforward to find.
