Pimelea cracens Endemic
I noticed this swampy area as we were passing it on the way to Manjimup. The side of the road has clumps of the bright orange Hibbertia stellaris so was worth investigating. Once back there with my camera, Ii found plenty of plants in flower including this graceful but droopy Pimelea which at first I thought might be Pimela suaveolens.
Pimelea suaveolens hasn't been recorded from that area and eventually I deduced it must be the much less well-known Pimelea cracens.
The distribution of Pimelae cracens is mostly in the far south of south-west Australia from around Margaret River to Esperance and well inland as well.
