This is a shrub which can be more than 1 metre high and has pink, white or cream flowers. The flowers are either male or female but the plant is not necessarily dioecious (female and male flowers on separate plants).

Phyllanthes calycinus grows in the south west of Western Australia centred on Perth but not very far inland.

Taxonomic change: Phyllanthus calycinus is now known as Lysiandra calycina
