Petrophile filifolia Endemic
Quite often in Western Australia, you can find a shrub with very thin leaves like this one. In this case, the leaves obscure the flower by running through all parts of the inflorescence and it is quite a challenge to find one flower not penetrated by what looks like grass. Petrophile filifolia is one such taxon and the the specific name filifolia means thin, grass-like leaves.
Petrophile filifolia grows from the east of Perth, through the Wheat Belt and is found frequently in and around the Stirling Range.
