Pedicularis tuberosa whole Pedicularis tuberosa close

Described as low growing in one text, this was in fact one of the taller Louseworts we found high in the Swiss Alpine meadows. It has dense heads of flowers with short bracts and a long upper petal or beak and grows in thr Alps, Pyrenees and Apennines at heights of up to 9,500 feet.
