Papaver gracile Endemic
Although not growing amongst the crops of this field, probably due to the usual use of herbicides, this very attractive annual poppy was found with the commoner (in the British Isles) weed of arable fields: Common Poppy Papaver rhoeas. It usually blooms in April and will also grow in rocky, gravelly places up to heights of 4,200 feet. It is found in Cyprus and Greece as well as Anatolia in Turkey.
