Papaver croceum Icelandic Poppy
Also known as Papaver nudicaule and in America as the Ice Poppy, this is a boreal (northern) plant is found flowering near the polar regions of Europe and North America. Only found in this southern region of the Swiss Alps, P. croceum is probably not native here. The flowers are biennial and can be white, orange or yellow. It is a very popular garden species there are many cultivars.
