According to some texts this plant flowers only for one week in which case we were very lucky to find a bedraggled patch of these Peonies in the wet of the Gargano. It is also known as the Male Peony (species name = mascula) and is found in Spain, Italy, Greece and Turkey and farther afield in China and Morocco
