Opuntia dillenii Erect Prickly Pear
Also known as Opuntia stricta, this north American native has become naturalised in various places with Mediterranean type climates such as Europe, Australia where it is regarded as an invasive weed, and the Canaries. It has distinctly long spines compared with O. ficus-indica (Prickly Pear) but similar yellow flowers and reddish fruits.
