Ophrys sphegodes ssp mammosa Early Spider Orchid
This is an eastern European sub species of Ophrys sphegodes which is usually taller than our British plant. There is also an outside chance that this could be Ophrys alasiatica but the difference between the two is too subtle to be discerned form photos.
Taxonomy: This is placed as a full species Ophrys mammosa Desf. by Delforge and others but the big databases say the correct accepted name is Ophrys sphegodes ssp mammosa (Desf.) Soó ex E.Nelson
