Ophrys fuciflora ssp parvimaculata Small Patterned Ophrys
On a very wet afternoon in the hills of the Gargano peninsula in Italy this was the single example of this orchid which we found.
Taxonomy: The local flora of the Gargano edited by Giovanni Quitadamo and Delforge's tome both give this plant species rank as Ophrys parvimaculata (O.Danesch & E.Danesch) Paulus & Gack, but the main databases say the correct and accepted name for this orchid is a sub species of late Spider Orchid: Ophrys fucifora ssp parvimaculata O.Danesch & E.Danesch.
