Narcissus bulbocodium ssp graelsii Hoop Petticoat Daffodil
This delightful little daffodil can be found in large numbers in the hills north of Madrid and flowers so early that, as you can see from the photo, it will bloom in the snow. It is a favourite with gardeners so can often be bought at nurseries and garden centres. It is a native of France, Spain and Portugal. The little yellow flower nearby in the left hand photo is a Gagea species.
