Luzula pilosa Hairy Wood-rush CC DD N
This little plant with its very fine stems and small flowers and fruits is superbly camouflaged and takes some finding. In fact I had failed to find this in a local Cheshire wood where I know it grows and only found this after stooping down to examine another plant next to it.
Luzula pilosa is common throughout England Wales and Scotland but there are local spots where it is hardly recorded in north east Anglia and south Lincolnshire. It is common in the north of Ireland but mostly found towards the south coast in the Republic.
