Ligustrum vulgare Wild Privet CC DD N
This is very similar to garden privet but if you find an obvious privet bush with lanceolate, un-serrated leaves usually growing on basic or neutral soils then the chances are that it is wild (L. vulgare) not garden privet (L. ovalifolium). Both have white flowers which smell the same and have black berries.
L. vulgare is found throughout the British Isles but is scarce in northern and central Scotland.
