This plant which grows in exactly the same habitat as Ligusticum mutellina (Mountain or Alpine Lovage), with very similar foliage, is smaller, has distinctive bracts circling the flowerhead and has just single stemmed flowers. It is found in mountainous regions in the Alps and other parts of Europe as well as in Alaska.
