Laxmannia squarrosa Paper Lily Endemic
The Laxmannia genus comprises tufted perennial plants probably named after Erik Gustavovich Laxman (1737 -1796) who was a Swedish (Finnish in today's geography) professor of Botany based in Irkutsk in Russia. Laxmannia squarrosa is only a few centimetres tall and the tallest species in the genus only reaches about 10 cm.
It is easily missed being so small but has been recorded from all over the south western corner of Western Australia.
