Larix decidua

This introduction is one of the favoured species by the Forestry Commission and this one had escaped into the grounds of a nearby house. The Larch looks like and ordinary pine until the Autumn and Winter when, as its botanical name suggests, it loses its needles like broad-leaved deciduous trees.
