Lamiastrum galeobdolon ssp montanum Yellow Archangel C DD N
This a fairly common woodland plant and member of the nettle family - in fact you often find it growing amongst the nettles in partial shade. This sub species is our common native plant and is often mistakenly recorded as ssp galeobdolon which is actually quite rare. To my eyes at least it is far more attractive than the much planted garden sub species: L. g. ssp argentatum.
Found in most of England, this woodland plant very soon becomes rare as you move north of the border with Scotland. It is common in Wales but only found in the north and east of Ireland.
