Keraudrenia integrifolia   Common Firebush Endemic

Keraudrenia integrifolia whole Keraudrenia integrifolia close

This is a shrub endemic to Australia which occurs extensively in the Wheatbelt but not much in the far south eastern corner of western Australia. It is named after Pierre Francois Keraudren (1769-1858) who was a naturalist and medical inspector of the French navy and who researched diseases suffered by seamen.

The shrub is about 1 m high and has velvety leaves with flowers looking a little as though they are made of paper.
