Juncus trifidus Three-leaved Rush C DDD N
Juncus trifidus is a high mountain rush species and is quite common in the mountains of north west Scotland, some of the north western islands and the Cairngorms. It is absent from lowland Scotland, all of Wales, Ireland and England.
The long leaf-like bracts, stalkless flowers and fruits and the clumps of plants propagated by rhizomes are typical.
