Juncus tenuis Slender Rush C DD I
Apart from a concentration around London, this common introduced rush from America has a preference for western regions and is quite sparsely dotted on the east side of the main land. In Ireland it prefers the east coast and Kerry.
Juncus species can be quite hard to recognise and distinguish one from the other so the very useful feature of Juncus tenuis is that the lowest bract is very much longer than the inflorescence.
