Hypocalymma robustum   Swan River Myrtle Endemic

Hypocalymma robustum whole Hypocalymma robustum whole

Although not as suitable for cultivation as Hypocalymma angustifolium (White Myrtle), this endemic species has such beautiful pink blooms covering the shrub in early Spring that it is often tried as a plant for parks and gardens. As with many Western Australian species, germination from seed can be very difficult unless exposed to smoke or smoky water. The distribution of this plant is more coastal in south Western Australia and it has a more restricted range than Hypocalymma angustifolium.
