Humulus lupulus Hop C DD N
Cultivated for the brewing industry, this plant is capable of naturalising itself easily in our hedgerows. H. lupulus is extremely common in the South and Central England where the brewing industry was very strong but sites become more scattered in the North of England and Scotland. The distribution in Ireland is surprisingly thin.
