Holcus mollis Creeping Soft-grass CCC D N
Very similar to Holcus lanatus (Yorkshire Fog) and growing in similar habitats, this grass is distinguished by the smooth upper stem and bent node with patent (sticking out) hairs. (Molly's got hairy knees)
H. mollis is very common throughout mainland Britain but a bit less common in Ireland particularly in the west
