Hardenbergia comptoniana   Native Wisteria Endemic

Hardenbergia comptoniana spike Hardenbergia comptoniana close

Quite similar to the flower of Hovea species, this climbing plant was nearly finished when I first found it and so the few remaining flowers didn't form the characteristic spike. H. comptoniana is common on the coastal strip from Albany to Geraldton but doesn't grow far from the coast. The small green striations in the centre of the flower's white panel, are not present in Hovea species.
