Gnaphalium undulatum Cape Cudweed C DD I
Both on Guernsey and Jersey we saw quite a few plants of G. undulatum which is a South Africa introduction. On the mainland it is present in Cornwall only but it seems to enjoy the climate nearer France where it has colonised all the main Channel Islands. We caught this one in mid-summer - too early for the flowers but were introduced to its other interesting characteristic. The crushed leaves stink.
