Fraxinus ornus Manna Ash
This tree used in parks and gardens, occasionally escapes in the British Isles but is a European native of hilly regions including the Alps and the Pyrenees. The sweet sap was, in the middle ages, compared with Manna described in the Bible - hence the common name Manna Ash.
