Filago pyramidata Broad-leaved Cudweed RRR DD N
This plant, which is quite common on the continent, is now a special rarity in the British Isles. Here at the main nature reserve managed by Plantlife, there is so much of it that it is estimated that 85% of the total British population grows on this patch. It thrives all over a (used) footpath for many metres where there are literally thousands of plants to be seen.
Although there are many records pre 1970, this species is now found in only a few places in the south east of England only.
