Eryngium bourgatii Pyrenean Eryngo
Although the English name suggests it might be endemic to the Pyrenees, E. bourgatii occurs elsewhere in the mediterranean region - in Spain for example. There are at least three varieties including var pyrenaicum, var hispanicum and var viridescens. The showy blue bracts and flowers make it a popular choice for cultivated varieties on sale in nurseries and garden centres. It is also known as Pyrenean Sea Holly.
