Native to South America in including Mexico, E. karvinskianus has been introduced and has successfully naturalised itself in many countries around the world. It is found in the UK in similar habitats to the ones here in northern Italy: growing out of walls. It is also known as Latin American Fleabane in the States. The plants photographed here were very popular with the Geranium Bronze (Cacyreus marshalli) butterfly.
