Dampiera stenostachya    Narrow-spiked Dampiera Endemic

Dampiera stenostachya whole Dampiera stenostachya close

This was a genuine puzzle as far as identification was concerned. It certainly seemed to have the look of a member of the Goodeniaceae family but perusing species in Goodenia, Dampiera and Leschenaultia for this are provided few convincing suggestions. Yet again my expert friends on the Wid Flower Society of Western Australia's Facebook page came to the rescue. So thanks to Lesley, Janet and Erin for all their efforts.

This species has been recorded from quite a few sites slightly north of Perth and inland in the Eastern Wheat Belt. Records go north nearly to a latitude with Geraldton and beyond Kalgoorlie in the east.
