Dampiera sacculata   Pouched Dampiera Endemic

This is a tallish plant for this genus with stems up to 0.5 metres in height. Sometimes the stems arch over but the "Pouched" description arises because of a small swelling behind the flower head due to the single growing seed in the ovary. Dampiera species are quite plentiful in the far south west of Australia as they prefer damp conditions and are often found on roadside verges where there is more likely to be disturbed ground.

Dampiera sacculata is found from Israelite Bay to a little beyond Albany and northwards in the Wheat Belt to north of Perth.
