Cynosurus echinatus Rough Dog's-tail DD I
We found this distinctive, introduced, European grass while searching for other rarities in the grasslands behind one of the many towers near L'Ancresse Common on Guernsey.
C. echinatus is predominantly an English plant with records in the southern counties and the Channel Islands being most frequent. It is occasionally found in northern England, Wales and Scotland but is rare in Ireland.
