Cynodon dactylon   Bermuda Grass

Cynodon dactylon

This grass is a native of Europe and North Africa but because it has invaded the Bermuda islands so effectively has been given the name Bermuda Grass. Although this one has three "fingers" there can be up to seven but it is very drought tolerant with roots which can penetrate up to six feet (and we in the UK complain about Couch grass). It is a wool alien in the British Isles and has been found in various place mostly in the south of the country.
