Caladenia longicauda ssp longicauda White Spider Orchid
Endemic
This was one of the tallest Spider Orchid we found on
our six week tour of western Australia. It was actually growing within
the pathside shrubs and flowering at a height of 50 cm or 60 cm. It
is quite common in these parts (Darling Range) but there are twelve
sub species (and hybrids of course) with which it could be confused.
The long fringes on the labellum and long slender petals are typical
of ssp longicauda.
