This is one of the commoner orchids in this part of S.W. Australia but we were surprised to find such a good specimen in dark Eucalypt woodland where there there were very few other plants to be seen amongst the leaf litter.

The plant was found by our host Rod Baker who found it on an early morning walk near the huts in Dryandra Forest where we were staying overnight. We returned to Dryandra with the Wild Flower Society of Western Australia in mid September to find an amazingly different and abundant flora.
